Mascara Review: CoverGirl Peacock Flare Mascara

Alright folksickles...

Today I will be reviewing the Covergirl Peacock Flare Mascara

Availability: As for online retailers I'm seeing this being sold at walmart.com, target.com, and ulta.com but being that it's a drugstore item I would recommend checking the drugstores in your area if you're interested in it. The retailing pricing for this is $8-9 on average although, again, that'll vary by area.
Would I buy this?: No
Notes: This only comes in "extreme" black - I think it's just as inky black as most other mascaras.
Let's go over what the mascara's supposed to do and what it actually does. It's marketed as a separating, voluminous, fanned out and clump-free mascara .
Alright so... for me I feel like this under-delivers on its claims. It provides my lashes with noticeable umph in that it does provide a great deal of volume and length and it layers quite well without flaking off or drying too quickly. That said my issue is the application wand, the bristles on it are too short to work with mascara formula in that 9/10 times the whole thing is gobbed in mascara which, as you can imagine, results in clumpy lashes. In addition to that, I find that it flares at the base somewhat which is just... nonsensical, it's best when wands taper at the base instead so you can get into the bitty lashes in the corner of the eye. Generally speaking I find this works ok but I definitely wouldn't rush out to go get it. I do like the rubbery ergonomic feature of the base of the wand that you hold onto.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Thanks!
