I'm a little less daring when it comes to make up and I always settle for basic, natural/minimal make up looks. Most (if not all) of my palettes are neutrals and it's become somewhat my 'thing'…obsession or whatever. When I saw the Becca Ombre Nudes Palette, I knew I had to make it my baby.
The Becca Ombre Nudes palette is definitely a sleek and luxe palette with great versatility. This palette contains a set of five matte neutral shades ranging from cool beige to smokey browns - all universally flattering. This palette definitely makes a perfect multi-tasker and beauty essential; you can use these shades as eyeshadows for neutral or smokey eye looks, highlighting or contouring the face or simply as brow powders.
The shadows themselves are highly pigmented and velvety smooth. They're finely milled so they're a little on the powdery side which means you're going to experience a bit of fall-out if you're not careful - however if you tap off the excess, they blend seamlessly with no effort required. These shadows have a very, very subtle lustre sheen. Shades aren't named, but are numbered 1 to 5.
Shades from left to right are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
1 is a soft, cool-toned cream beige great as a base colour or a highlight shade.
2 has a cool undertone that's slightly muted. It's a light taupe shade with a soft velvety texture. This shade is great as a transition colour or as a base for soft, smokey eyes.
3 is a rich ash brown with cool undertones which makes this the perfect crease colour or face contour - along the cheekbones, nose, jawline and temples.
4 translate as a dark, cocoa brown shade and is beautiful when used to deepen the crease or all over the mobile lid as base for smokey eyes.
5 is a very deep truffle brown shade and is the perfect for deepening the outer-V or used for a intense smokey eye look.
This palette is totally my jam! I have been using this excessively for the past couple of weeks and I just can't get over it. Also, I've been digging the matte lip look lately and I rarely stray from nude and bold, vamp lip colours so the Napoleon Perdis Mattetastic lipstick in Lucille is the first and only lipstick I own that is a slightly orange-pink, slightly neon and slightly coral. This is a very wearable shade and the perfect pop of colour for spring and summer. The texture of this lipstick is smooth and thin in consistency and glides on with semi to full opacity. This is a very lightweight formula and feels comfortable on the lips. Despite being a matte finish, it's not drying and it wears beautifully for up to 3 hours with light eating and drinking. Unfortunately, this does accentuate dry flakes and there will be light transfer, but on the plus side, this can also be used as a cream blush!
